MEN MEN is a Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective that focuses on the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. MEN speaks to issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and demanding liberties through lyrical content and an exciting stage show. The group began in 2007 as the DJ/production/remix team of LE TIGRE members JD Samson and Johanna Fateman. When the duo began to write new songs, it made sense to merge their efforts with JD's other new project HIRSUTE. JD and Hirsute members Michael O'Neill (Princess, Ladybug Transistor) and Ginger Brooks Takahashi (LTTR, The Ballet) now comprise the core of MEN, with Johanna and artist Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants, and producers.
People At Parties
“…where
the Ladytron relied on an unapproachable, detached cool, People At
Parties seem intent on getting up close and personal with a more
dramatic and romantic approach to bass-heavy new-wave revivalism. These
two tracks are among the best I’ve heard so far in 2011, and People At
Parties upcoming debut EP should cause a ruckus in the clubs.” —Michael Marotta
Tayisha Busay Is the best electronic dance band you can possibly experience. When they aren't rolling around in piles of glitter and beaming out ridiculous lyrics, they are cuddling their keyboards and grinding up on their synthesizers at shows all over NYC and beyond.
RAD PONY "Here is a duo to watch out for, as they have the right kind of pop sensibilities: super sexy chemistry and killer beats that just makes you want to let loose...with drummer Sarah Strauss’s powerful rock the house dance beats, mixed with BoySkout’s Ingrid Dahl’s mesmerizing vocals, and haunting electro-pop keys, it is difficult not to fall captive to their melodic dance trance. Tom Tom Magazine Review (December 2009)
Athen's Boys Choir can be a bit deceiving but you can’t blame a Transsexual man living in
the Deep South for having a sense of humor about the whole ordeal. So
Katz, the Choir’s now solo member, travels the country speaking “the
good word” throwing down hard hitting spoken-word that deals with
issues of Gender, Politics, Love, Sex, and everything in-between.
Hunter Valentine There's this feeling you get when
you have an intense crush. Your heart pounds for no reason. Buying milk at the
grocery store or riding the bus, you notice a flock of butterflies trying to
escape from your stomach. You find yourself humming the sappiest AM radio hits
in the shower. It’s almost impossible to replicate that sense of total
serotonin-charged exhilaration. The only thing that comes close is note-perfect,
hook-drenched music. That is Hunter Valentine's stock in trade.
Jen Urban & The Box Known for incendiary live performance, genre-bending repertoire, & irresistible songwriting, Jen Urban & the Box sets a new standard for contemporary independent pop. I play guitar and tell my secrets to audiences. When I don’t hate the world, I’m completely in love with it. My passions in life are music, graphic design, laughing and making people laugh, the internet, the concept of love, and attempting to solve problems and/or win hearts through catchy songs of hope.

Lost Boi's At the age of 12 two lost bois met and, in friendship found musical solidarity. In their teens, A.O. and B.steady shared the stage as vocalists in a jazz band, falling in love with the nuances of the jazz standard. Upon their return to DC in the summer of '09, A.O. and B.Steady reunited with a fierce determination to challenge the sexist, racist, and homophobic hot-mess that is mainstream music.
Clinical Trials Born south of the Mason-Dixon line, Somer Bingham migrated north in the late nineties, in part to seek fame and fortune, but mostly to skip college classes at Princeton. Four years ago, she had her heart ripped out, stepped on, and dredged through some high-quality (but very acidic) vinegar. This gave her all the inspiration she needed to decide to devote her life to music completely. Maybe it was to give voice to her heartache.
Jenny Grind Though the variety of influences is infinite, the realm of OmegaBand is within the context of this definition. And while the aim of our message is most definately to shake up the snow globes of minds that surround us, it is in our live performances that we are most able to illustrate these ideals with the unrestrained passion and sensuality that comes straight from the soul.

Erin Brown
Is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Raleigh, NC. My first gig was when she was 14, opening for a jazz band at a cute little coffee shop in Durham, playing all original songs on a borrowed 12 string guitar. In June of 2010, she quit her lovely animal keeping job and is going on a solo, self-funded but amazingly and luckily and wonderfully not exclusively self-encouraged or self-supported or self-enthused tour to try to get my music heard by the peoples.
