The Cliks
It’s remarkable that something so good can come from feeling so bad. As is the case of most great art, Toronto trio the Cliks have dredged the emotional mire of the past two years to create Dirty King, a rich rock extravaganza showcasing a sonic expansion for the band. With music as textured and layered as the deeply varied emotional terrain it treads, feeling bad never sounded so good.

Partyline
Out of the ashes of the Washington, D.C., suburban dude music scene crash the three ladies of Partyline! Armed with politics, punk and a penchant for partying (and sharing phone lines), they thrash vigilantly against boredom, the Bush regime and body control! Girls with glasses, they'll squash you like a bug!

BITCH
is an entertainer who lives in NYC. (You may know her from her former band Bitch and Animal (Righteous Babe Records), or John Cameron Mitchell’s movie “Shortbus”). She is a musical poet. She uses the electric violin to rock. She plays the bass, keyboards and ukulele. One thing you can count on with this compelling performer is her ability to command a stage and her radical lyrics and antics. Her most recent release, “Make This/Break This” came out on Kill Rock Stars and is her first solo studio album since leaving her former band. It combines her violin and words and bass mostly, and there’s one track of just her and her ukulele. It’s performance-arty, heartfelt and pushy.

Athen's Boys Choir
can be a bit deceiving but you can’t blame a Transsexual man living in the Deep South for having a sense of humor about the whole ordeal. So Katz, the Choir’s now solo member, travels the country speaking “the good word” throwing down hard hitting spoken-word that deals with issues of Gender, Politics, Love, Sex, and everything in-between.

Hunter Valentine
There's this feeling you get when you have an intense crush. Your heart pounds for no reason. Buying milk at the grocery store or riding the bus, you notice a flock of butterflies trying to escape from your stomach. You find yourself humming the sappiest AM radio hits in the shower. It’s almost impossible to replicate that sense of total serotonin-charged exhilaration. The only thing that comes close is note-perfect, hook-drenched music. That is Hunter Valentine's stock in trade.

Andrea Gibson
is not gentle with her truths. It is this raw fearlessness that has made her a kind of rockstar of the poetry world - a four time Denver Grand Champion who has headlined prestigious performance venues coast to coast with powerful readings on politics, global justice and gender issues.

The Shondes
are known for their melodic rock sound and a live show that explodes with energy. Their music draws from feminist punk, classical and Jewish music, which combine to create songs that are often both heartbreaking and hopeful. They bring an infectious urgency to their live performances that gets audiences on their feet and singing along.

The Good Asian Drivers
broke into the national spotlight in 2008 when slam poet Kit Yan and songwriter Melissa Li launched an unforgettable cross-country tour, playing in over 30 states in 12 weeks. Together, this performance powerhouse emerged from their breakthrough debut as one of the most electrifying artists of their generation.

SHIRAGIRL
i
s perhaps known best for crashing the Warped Tour in 2004. The spunky pink-haired Jersey girl drove into the gates with her pink RV and set up in front of the skate ramp. A crowd immediately formed and she was invited to play the entire tour. This story describes shiragirl best: she makes a scene, demands attention, and gains respect as she carves out her own place in music, rather than sitting around waiting to be discovered.

Boyskout

has shared the stage with Tegan & Sara, Metric, Shonen Knife, The Coachwhips, The Gossip,The Rogers Sisters, The Lovemakers, The Vanishing, Film School, Two Gallants, The Killers, Hey Will Power, Birdmonster, Veronica Lipgloss & the Evil Eyes, Intelligence, The Blood Arm… Boyskout’s line up includes Leslie Satterfield on guitar and vocals, Christina Stanley on keyboard and violin, Daniel on bass, Ingrid Dahl on guitar and Steve Strehler on drums.

Mzery Loves Company
Since forming in Sasha’s garage one chilly fall day, Mzery Loves Company broke into the hip-rock scene in 2007 with their debut album Herstory 101.The band’s latest album, Order N Chaos, unites Mzery’s hardcore lyrics with Liz’s gutter baseline, Ladie Clair’s dirty-dirty licks, and SashNja’s nasty backbeat, to almost effortlessly push out a mob of chart-topping bangers.

Belladonna
strives to communicate her artistic expression through her dance, costuming and musical choices. She is in love with her students, with teaching and with the ever evolving tribal fusion belly dance community. She infuses her knowledge of and passion for energetic healing in her weekly classes and specialty workshops.

Bellafea
In Spanish, bella means beautiful, and fea means ugly. Chapel Hill three-piece Bellafea fulfills the possibility of its name. The voice of Heather McEntire can coo or curse. Her guitar can sway or slash. Drummer Nathan Buchanan can lock into a popping rhythm or crack it open from its seams. Bassist Eddie Sanchez can ooze into the gaps or flood them. But none of these characteristics are mutually exclusive: Bellafea’s roar can be beautiful, and its whimper can be ugly.

Clinical Trials
Born south of the Mason-Dixon line, Somer Bingham migrated north in the late nineties, in part to seek fame and fortune, but mostly to skip college classes at Princeton. Four years ago, she had her heart ripped out, stepped on, and dredged through some high-quality (but very acidic) vinegar. This gave her all the inspiration she needed to decide to devote her life to music completely. Maybe it was to give voice to her heartache.

Omega Band
Though the variety of influences is infinite, the realm of OmegaBand is within the context of this definition. And while the aim of our message is most definately to shake up the snow globes of minds that surround us, it is in our live performances that we are most able to illustrate these ideals with the unrestrained passion and sensuality that comes straight from the soul.

Tiik W/ G.U.T.S
Tiik is an award winning singer/songwriter, and rhythm + lead guitarist, with a long herstory in the women’s alternative rock scene; Lizzy Tisch, BeBe K'Roche, Toshi Reagan & the Agitones, Tiik with Native Ban, G.U.T.S. and others.
